The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development visit Erie for a technology tour. Secretary of the Department, Dennis Davin, says the visit aims to put a spotlight on Erie's tech. businesses.  It also emphasizes Governor Tom Wolf's strong support for private-sector technology and innovation.  He calls Erie a "hotspot" for high-tech. start-ups and new commercial development. 

"The Race to 2020" is an ambitious, special, four-year reporting project by writer and editor Daniel Allott and his twin brother, documentary filmmaker Jordan Allott. One of their first stops was to Erie, PA where they interviewed managing partner David Hunter about running an internet marketing firm in Pennsylvania.

National correspondent for The Atlantic, James Fallows, posted an article Wednesday morning on The Atlantic’s website, calling Erie, PA “the representative American city of this moment."
